From our collection to yours
Vans and The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles are two institutions that encourage the expression of creativity, and are committed to making creative expression accessible to everyone. This season, Vans and MOCA are proud to collaborate on a collection of footwear and apparel that celebrates creativity with California roots.
Commemorating Chicana muralist Judith F. Baca’s 1984 Olympics mural, in which a female runner with her arms outstretched breaks through a finish line and takes down a brick wall with her, revealing the L.A. skyline behind, the Vans x MOCA Judy Baca Jacket features artwork from Baca’s mural. Commissioned for the 1984 Olympic games, Baca’s mural wasn’t just another piece of street art. Rather, it was designed to depict a national milestone-the first time women were allowed to compete in the games.
Made with cotton peached canvas, this jacket includes a gradient screen print at the back panel, patch pockets at the chest, logo embroidery at the front pocket, and a boxy fit.
