Vans, in partnership with British fashion designer Christopher Raeburn have teamed up to create their first utilitarian-inspired head-to-toe collection, launching onNovember 18th.
RÆBURN is a collaborative, creative fashion studio based in the heart of East London, where style meets responsible design. The progressive team creates innovative and intelligent sustainable fashion for a global audience, often reworking and remaking surplus materials and garments to create pieces that are both distinctive and functional. This season, Vans and RÆBURN celebrate responsible design and intentional use of technical materials for a capsule of footwear and apparel informed by RÆBURN’s unique design ethos.
The four-piece footwear collection includes two different colorways of the classic Sk8-Hi and Old Skool, elevated with innovative materials. Featuring a camouflage print and an ankle buckle, the Vans X RÆBURN Sk8-Hi GTX VR3 features a clean aesthetic with functional upgrades. Rubber toe caps and the addition of waterproof GORE-TEX® coating means that your feet stay dry no matter the conditions, and the VR3Cush™ footbed, made using at least 25% biobased EVA foam partially derived from plants, offers next-level comfort.
Along with the VR3Waffle outsole that is made with a proprietary compound containing at least 25% natural rubber while still maintaining the grip and durability that Vans has been known for since ’66, this elevated Sk8-Hi keeps things classic while delivering a distinct RÆBURN touch. For a more paired-back look, the Sk8-Hi GTX VR3 is also available in a slick all-black version with contrasting bright orange logo label and heel pulls. For fans of the iconic Old Skool, the Vans X RÆBURN Old Skool GTX VR3 comes in both a camo and all-black version, featuring the same innovative materials and GORE-TEX® coating as the Sk8-Hi.
The star of the apparel collection is the matching fleece tracksuit in camo and all-black. Made with 100% recycled polyester, the Vans X RÆBURN Fleece Jacket and Fleece Sweatpants features a clean aesthetic with functional details, including the use of Sherpa, multiple zippered pockets and a hood in the jacket and ribbed elastic waist and ankle cuffs in the pants for a comfortable fit. A cotton jersey long-sleeve and short-sleeve tee with collaborative logos round off the apparel collection.
